I recently hit 80, and respecced to blood DPS. Was wondering how useful Bloodworms really is (i didn't invest talent points on it)...is the healing they provide actually worth it? What do you guys think?
BTW this is my first post here, nice to have a place just for DKs, great job :)

I found them very useful as I was doing solo work for achievements, rep based quests, etc. However, in heroic 5 mans and 10 or 25 man raids they died almost immediately, so I wouldn't say they are worth the points once you get past of doing any type of solo work.

Their slight damage and healing is not as noticeable at higher levels, but it is a slight boost. I've also had mobs run for them instead, giving the tank time to pick up aggro. You shouldn't focus your build around them, but if you are looking to squeeze out ever bit of dps and you have a few spare talent points, go for it.

I think if you're looking to squeeze out more DPS there's better talents to points into than Bloodworms.
However, ALOT of how a DK is spec'd really depends on personal preference. There are very few cookie cutter builds out there. Try BW out. If you like it, keep em. If not, then respec and try something different. :D
I rarely respec a build because I do my homework beforehand. However, I've respec'd my DK now about 6 times to get what feels right for me...

Thanks everyone :) Yeah I've tried them at lower lvls and now I'm trying to clean up my final talent build, see which talents are really worth the points...
Thanks again, bye!

Just another thing to be aware of,
bloodworms are a little buggy at the moment and can have the occasional run at a cc'd mob,
i have seen on 3 different occasions where a targat has been cc'd and the bloodworms have gone straight for it even when the DK they belonged to was attacking another target. :D

I've seen them go after neutral mobs, out of range mobs, de-aggroed mobs, snared mobs, alliance players, alliance player's bloodworms... These critters are extremely hungry!

In my opinion, Bloodworms are only efficent when its maxed, and even then, it is a waste of 3 talent points. Blood should have enough of abilities to keep your health up. If you want a slighter damage buff, get something that actually effects you damage ;-o

meh..I think just the chaotic/buggy nature of them might make for a good time or laugh once in a while. As far as a serious spec that actually wants the most benefit out of their talent points, I wouldn't really recommend them.
