talent question.

In the first tier of the blood talent tree you have the talent named "butchery" which reads "Whenever you kill an enemy that grants experience or honor, you generate up to 20 runic power. In addition, you generate 2 runic power per 5 sec while in combat.
My question is, if your level 80 and don't PvP, is this talent then basically useless since you don't get experience from creatures no more?
I'm thinking as the talent reads, the answer would be no. Can anyone confirm this?

When I read that, I just assumed that it'd default to any kill that isn't "trivial" at 80. Like, if a mob was level 71 and it would of given even a small amount of exp at 80..you'd get the benefit of it. Not having a level 80 death knight of my own, this is just a guess..but anything less just wouldn't make much sense to me.

good point, i didn't even think of that! if i was still leveling at 80 then any 75 or higher mob would give me xp and there for this talent and others like it should still work but i have yet to test this theory/assumption.

Ya sometimes blizz should be shot for the little info they give to tool tips.
Yes anything at 80 that would normally give xp if you could continue to lvl will trigger this, :)

However, unless you rely on using your runic power a lot (like I do) this talent is still two hairs away from being useless. Most tanks would scrap it in favor of Blade Barrier (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=55226) and non-Blood DPS would likely invest the extra points in their tree.

I use a Sudden Doom (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=49532) - Impurity (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=49638) combo, so Butchery (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=49483) is actually a key part of my build :P
