First off, I would like to start off by saying that I got the idea of this guide after seeing Snazzy's guide. This is basically a larger and more resourceful version of that guide.
Item : Axe of Frozen Death (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=38237)
This item is really good for leveling up in Northrend. I would recommend being level 69 before getting all the quests done to retrieve the axe.
Lets look at the stats:
Axe of Frozen Death
Binds when picked up
Two-Hand Axe
341 - 513 Damage Speed 3.60
(118.6 damage per second)
+37 Strength
+54 Stamina
Durability 100 / 100
Item Level 138
Equip: Improves hit rating by 28 (1.98% @ L68).
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 43
This weapon is great in everything. It gives you hit rating and critical strike rating, which increases your level DPS by quite a bit. It also gives Strength as Stamina, providing a good tanking weapon also, if you were to tank any instances before you reach 80.
Getting the weapon is easy, but long.
Once you go to Warsong Hold, you'll have to do the entire quest chain, starting with:
The Defense of Warsong Hold (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11595) and ending with:
Tank Ain't Gonna Fix Itself (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11642)
After that, get the quest Untold Truths (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11614) from Shadowstalker Barthus (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=25394), who is just outside Warsong Hold in the front, inside the little camp. Do the entire quest chain that starts with Untold Truths (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11614) and ends with Get to Getry (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11703).
Once you finish Get to Getry (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11703), you will be given a quest chain that starts with Foolish Endeavors (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11705) which is easily soloable by any class. Be careful though, because Varidus the Flenser has an AoE which will eventually kill you if you don't heal yourself somehow, or if you don't DPS him down quick enough.
Once you finish that quest, you do NOT have to get Nork Bloodfrenzy's Charge (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11709).
The final chain quest you must complete is The Wondrous Bloodspore (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11716) which you acquire by speaking to Bloodmage Laurith (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=25381).
That chain will end with Trophies of Gammoth (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11722).
After you finish all those quest chains, you will be able to get Hellscream's Champion (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11916) from Garrosh Hellscream, which you return to Cheiftain Wintergale (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=24703) at Taunka'le Village to get your axe!
And there you are, an amazing axe that will last you many levels, and those quest chains sure got you a lot of experience.
