DPS question

Hello all,

First time visitor and poster here.

I recently switched from a Shadow Priest to a DK, my first melee character. I was originally gearing him as a tank until I decided to go DPS and am now in the middle of gear sets.

After respeccing Blood and buying the appropriate glyphs I started searching for rotations for a few hours, although I found a lot of "outdated" information prior to patch 3.1 being released. I've tried out a few but I feel as if though my dps on the raid dummy in Ebon Hold is a bit low.

I topped out earlier at ~2500 and usually end at ~2250.

My rotation is currently IT, PS, HSx2, DS, DC, DS, HSx4... rinse and repeat replacing DC with DRW the second time through.

I know my gears a bit mismatched right now, I'm working on replacing the tanking pieces.

With the right gear, you will do better. I recommend doing some reading. View my "Blood is the Power" DPS guide. There's a good rotation and build in there that should help you out.

Its referring to the death knight abilities like Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Heart Strike, etc.

There are different "rotations" to be used for each type of death knight (blood, frost, unholy). The rotations are which order to use the abilities in to maximize your damage. There is more info about it here:
